Project Overview

We recently carried out rafter feet and wall plate repairs in conjunction with a woodworm (Anobium Punctatum) treatment within an eaves void in Bridge of Weir. The client was delighted with our work and hassle-free service, with minimal disruption to their Renfrewshire property.

Woodworm and wet rot are a common combination in eaves voids. The damp conditions that soften timber also attract wood-boring insects, so both issues need to be tackled together for a lasting result. Left untreated, the decay and infestation would have continued to spread through the roof structure.

Works Completed

  • Cut back decayed and infested timbers to sound wood throughout the eaves void, ensuring no compromised material remained in the structure.
  • Renewed rafter feet and wall plates in new pre-treated timbers as per our specification, restoring full structural integrity to the affected areas.
  • Treated all eaves void timbers with an insecticidal fluid as per our specification, eradicating the active infestation and providing lasting residual protection.
  • Left the work area clear and tidy with all debris and infested material removed and the property left exactly as we found it.
  • Full documentation and guarantee provided on completion, including a photographic record of works and an independently insured guarantee backed by GPI.
